BEHINING OF
PRINTING
Reading and writing are the hallmarks of human
culture and have existed for so long that most people think of them as natural
to man. But printing is relatively modern invention, whose late appearance in
Europe brought the alphabets. Before the printing came to existence they were
using pictures for the communication, but the communication through the
pictures was difficult to communicate their abstract ideas, then they used the
idiography type of communication, where the communication was through symbols it was help full to
communicate the abstract ideas , later the alphabets were evolved.
HISTORY OF
PRINTING
The first high speed printing press was
designed around 1450 in Germany by JOHANN GUTERNBERG. He tried several different
designs, but he settled on the basic form of wine press. He placed the bed of the press so that it
could be rolled out from under the plate, activated the screw by a lever, and added a frame. Guternberg’s
press worked so well that three hundred years later BENJAMIN FRANKLIN used a similar design. Two
men were needed to operate Franklins press.

PRINTING PRESS
A PRINTING
PRESS is a machine that transfers an image from plate or an images
from carrier to a subrstrate, such as
paper. It is certainly possible to
transfer images from a plate without using a machine. Consider a rubber stamp
or a stencil but printing presses are much faster and print more accurately
than hand methods
